Photographs of Mossy Woodlands of Ireland

One of Ireland's most beautiful natural gems are the mossy woodlands scattered throughout the emerald green isle. Ancient yew forests like Reenadinna Wood and the forests of Killarney National Park exemplify such beauty. As with photographing any forest scenes, the contrast of bright daylight can be challenging. However, such dense forests can also be challenging under overcast conditions as the dim light requires slower shutter speeds and it seems the wind manages to makes its way into these woodlands as well. I was fortunate to encounter intermittent and dappled sunlight occasionally which created better conditions. Here are some of the delightful scenes I encountered during my 2017 trip.
