Photographs of Florence Italy - Ponte Vecchio, Piazza Scenes
Florence, the seat of the renaissance, has become synonymous with art itself. These are some of my favorite artistic creations from the city.

The Ponte Vecchio in Florence Italy
This photograph of the Ponte Vecchio is a composite created from layers of tones and textures based on my nature images. The original image used was from my first visit to Florence in 1998 and captured on film. The complexity of hues, tones and textures in this image highlight this wonderful old city, birth of the renaissance.

Ponte Vecchio Balcony and Red Ivy in Florence Italy
This photograph was taken during my second visit to Florence in 2005. It was also my first trip using a digital camera and venturing into the new world of digital photography. The rich color of this building on the Ponte Vecchio was the result of bright overcast light in early morning. The red ivy created a lovely accent.

Red Umbrella In the Piazza in Florence Italy
This image was created from a combination of planning and pure serendipity. Although I set up my tripod and composed the stones and reflections in the Piazza Della Signoria, I was hoping for a bicycle to streak through the frame. Instead, this woman with the red umbrella appeared and walked into the scene. I had only seconds and timing was crucial. This photograph was taken during my second visit to Florence in 2005.

Strolling the Piazza Della Signoria in Florence Italy
This photograph was taken during my second visit to Florence in 2005. It was taken during the same morning rain as the "Red Umbrella" in Piazza della Signoria. The lights were still lit around the piazza and added to the reflections in the wet pavement.
